Hello, I'm Emma.
I'm an experienced yoga and Pilates teacher, and midlife-coach. I founded Vital and Strong to share the kind of coaching I wish I'd had in my own thirties and forties — practical, intelligent movement that honours the body rather than fighting it. This isn't fitness for fitness' sake. It's a way of coming back to yourself.

My Journey
After years abroad, working in different settings, and raising a family, it was finally time for me to put my fitness fully at the forefront of my life. I have been a Pilates devotee since my mid-twenties, and I accredit this discipline to keeping me strong, supple and youthful.
Like so many women, I found myself in midlife navigating a changing body, shifting energy and a quiet sense that the rules I'd been given no longer fit. Rather than push harder, I learned to move with more intention — to build strength that sustains me, not exhausts me. That discovery became the foundation of everything I teach. I write about it openly on my Substack, where I share honest reflections on perimenopause, strength and the art of reinvention.

How I Work
I coach one‑to‑one and in larger class settings. Every programme is built around you — your goals, your history, the hours you actually have. Expect a blend of:
- Free weight training and resistance work to build lasting, functional strength
- Yoga and Pilates for mobility, posture and nervous system
- Active coaching that supports how you eat, sleep, rest and recover
- A kind, curious conversation — because motivation follows understanding
Who I Work With
I work with people of all ages and stages — from younger clients laying the foundations for a lifetime of strong, mobile movement, through to those navigating perimenopause, rebuilding after a life event, or returning to exercise after time away. Whether you're brand new to fitness or simply ready to feel strong in a way that lasts, you don't need to be fit, flexible or anything other than ready to learn. You just need to be curious.
